Dough is a paste made by mixing grain flour or bean flour with a liquid. It is an early step in the preparation of many dishes including breads, noodles, dumplings, cakes, cookies, and pastry.
Common doughs include:
- Bread dough
- Phyllo (or Filo)
- Laminated dough, including puff pastry
- Sourdough bread
- Choux pastry
