Braided bread

Braided bread is bread that is formed by twisting strands of bread dough around each other to form a woven, knotted, or twisted pattern. It is most commonly seen in Ashkenazi Jewish challah bread, but is also seen in the kolach and vánočka bread of central and eastern Europe.
