Manju are a Japanese wagashi sweet bun, made with a steamed wheat dough and a sweet filling such as adzuki (red bean) paste. It is closely related to the Chinese steamed bun, mantou. Manju differ from daifuku and other mochi confections in the use of wheat dough rather than glutinous rice.
