Abará is a cake made from ground black-eyed peas, cooked in a bain-marie and wrapped in banana leaves. It is a typical dish of African and Bahian cuisine. It is made with the same dough as acarajé, but abará is boiled and has seasonings and palm oil in its dough, while acarajé is fried.
