The orange is a sweet citrus fruit. It is sometimes called the sweet orange to distinguish it from the bitter orange.
Oranges were created by hybridizing pomelos and mandarin oranges, in the region that is now southern China, northeast India, and Myanmar, some time before the 3rd century BCE.
