Peach palm fruit is the yellow or orange fruit of the peach palm (Bactris gasipaes). The fruit is not edible raw due to high concentrations of calcium oxalate crystals, but can be stewed, boiled, or pressure-cooked to eliminate the crystals and produce a fruit with a flavor similar to a sweet potato.
