Gyōza are Japanese dumplings with a pork and garlic filling, similar to (and inspired by) Chinese jiaozi dumplings. They are usually encountered by non-Japanese diners as yaki-gyōza , a pan-fried preparation (see also pot sticker ), but can also be boiled as sui-gyōza and deep-fried as age-gyōza .
