Kanmidokoro are a type of dessert café found in Japan. Kanmidokoro are distinctive for their focus on traditional Japanese confectionery, unlike kissaten, which may offer Western-style coffee, cakes, and sandwiches.
The dishes served in kanmidokoro nearly always feature anko , adzuki bean paste, either as smooth koshi-an or chunky tsubu-an . Anko is used to make sweet shiruko soup, and is included in mitsumane and anmitsu bowls.
