Chicory is a genus (Cichorium) of vegetables, including radicchio, puntarelle (or Catalogna chicory), curly endive, escarole, common endive, and Belgian endive. The term "chicory" is also used in the UK to refer to the product called Belgian endive in the US, and to the species of common chicory
