Miang is a Laotian term for "food wrapped in leaves," and also the northern Thai word for pickled tea leaves . In Laos, miang kham is a popular snack food made with pickled tea leaves stuffed with chopped coconut, peppers, shallots, garlic, ginger, lime, cashes, and dried shrimp, sometimes topped with palm syrup or cane syrup .
