Laskiaispulla is a Finnish sweet bun, usually served filled with whipped cream and almond paste or jam, often served on Shrove Tuesday. It is the Finnish equivalent of Swedish semla, called fastlagsbulle in the Swedish-speaking parts of Finland. The Finnish name for the bun derives from the Finnish celebration of Laskiainen, a mid-winter celebration associated with feasting and snow-sledding.
