Hong dou sha (dòu shā or 豆沙) is the Chinese term for a sweetened paste made of the adzuki bean. In the Chinese preparation, the beans are frequently enriched with fats, including lard, and sweetened with rock sugar (bing tang)
The same ingredient is known in Japanese as anko and in Korean as patso.
