Bratwurst in Biersauce is a popular German preparation of bratwurst in a pan sauce of beer, usually thickened with some roux and perhaps seasoned with marjoram or other herbs. It is often served with potatoes and sauerkraut.
The preparation was adapted by German immigrants to the United States into the Wisconsin beer brat; notably, the Wisconsin version does not employ roux.
