Bratwurst (German, "fried or roasted sausage") is a German sausage made from pork, veal, pork, or beef. There are many variants of bratwurst across German-speaking Europe and in regions of the United States with large German immigrant populations, especially in the upper midwestern states of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, and Illinois.
