An Apple Brown Betty, or simply Apple Betty, is an American fruit dessert, similar to a crisp or pandowdy, made by layering diced apple with with bread crumbs, torn bread pieces, or graham cracker crumbs, and then baking the dish, covered, until it sets with a texture somewhat like bread pudding.
In some American states, "apple Betty" is a synonym for apple crisp.
