Brown Betty

A Brown Betty is an American fruit dessert, similar to a crisp or pandowdy, made by layering diced fruit with with bread crumbs, torn bread pieces, or graham cracker crumbs, and then baking the dish, covered, until it sets with a texture somewhat like bread pudding.
