Za'atar is a family of culinary herbs used across the Eastern Mediterranean, and is also the name of a spice blend based on these herbs, along with sumac and sesame seeds. It is used across Levantine and Arab worlds as an accompaniment to flatbreads or as a stuffing for breads.
