Sweet dumplings are dumplings that are sweetened or served as part of a dessert. Sweet dumpling dishes exist all over the world.
Examples include the European tradition of making dumplings containing fruit, as in apple dumplings, marillenknödel, or Dampfnudel, or of serving dumplings with a sweet sauce, as in Czech buchtičky se šodó. In Asian cuisines, glutinous rice flour, tapioca, or sago dumplings are served in a sweet soup, as in tangyuan, or oshiruko. In Indian cuisine, kozhukattai rice dumplings are often stuffed with grated coconut or jaggery.
