Strained yogurt, also called Greek yogurt, labneh, yogurt cheese, sack yogurt, and kerned yogurt, is yogurt that has been processed to remove most of its whey. This created a thicker, denser product which retains the tanginess and creaminess of yogurt.
Labneh is the name given to strained yogurt in the Levant, Egypt, and the Arabian peninsula, where it is used in many dishes; see the main labneh article for details.
Skyr is a strained yogurt produced in Iceland; see the main skyr article for more.
