Higashi

Higashi is a Japanese term for any dry confectionery. It is a subcategory of wagashi, which is the term for all Japanese confections. Higashi must have less than 20% water, which includes, for example, many konpeitō hard candies, senbei crackers, arare crackers, and rakugan.
