Chōshoku is a Japanese term for breakfast; informally, the term asa gohan is also used. A traditional Japanese chōshoku would contain rice, miso shiru, tsukemono, with nori, egg (which can be added to the rice or the soup), fish (often salmon or mackerel), and tsukudani.
