Vetiver (Chrysopogon zizanioides) also called khus, is a cultivated grass grown in India, Indonesia, Haiti, and Réunion for use as a fragrance and as a flavoring agent. Khus syrup is made by adding khus essence to a syrup and acidifying the mixture with citric acid. The syrup is used to flavor milkshakes and yogurt drinks like lassi, and in ice creams and in cocktails and beverages.
