Timpana is a Maltese baked pasta dish, which is a variation on the Greek pastitsio. It is typically made with macaroni tossed in tomato sauce with beef, bound with egg and cheese, which is then enclosed in pastry and baked. When it is prepared without the pastry it is imqarrun.
