Sweet woodruff, Galium odoratum is a flowering plant native to much of Eurasia. It is widely cultivated for its sweet-smelling flowers. It has been used to flavor May wine, juices, brandy, jelly, jam, the Georgian soft drink Tarkhuna, ice cream, and herbal tea, but it is toxic due to the presence of coumarin, and is illegal for use in food in many countries.
