Onigiri, also omusubi or nigirimeshi, is a Japanese dish of plain or lightly salted cooked rice, pressed or wrapped around a morsel of meat, vegetable, or seafood, formed into a cylinder or triangle and usually wrapped in nori (seaweed). It is a convenient, portable food that is available in Japanese convenience shops and fast-service restaurants.
