"Mayan chocolate" is a term used mostly in American cuisine for a chocolate beverage or confection that is enhanced with spicy chili peppers . This practice is intended to evoke the historical use of cacao in Mayan cuisine. See also Mexican Chocolate and Mexican hot chocolate .
