Koseret is an Ethiopian herb (Lippia abyssinica) in the verbena family that is throughout tropical Africa. It has an aroma and flavor that is minty and somewhat similar to basil.
In Ethiopian cuisine, it is commonly used to season niter kibbeh and ye'qimem zeyet, and as an ingredient in afrinj.
