Jello salad, or gelatin salad, is a gelatin dish with fruit, vegetable, or cheese accents suspended in a typically fruity gelatin. The name derives from the brand name Jell-O, which was a dominant brand of fruit-flavored gelatin in the United States throughout the 20th century.
