Fucha ryōri is the Japanese term for the vegetarian cuisine of Zen Buddhism, as practiced by the Ōbaku school. It is similar to shōjin ryōri , but has more Chinese influence. It is centered on the temple at Manpuku-ji, in Kyoto. The Ōbaku is also noteworthy for introducing loose-leaf tea to Japan.
