Enchilada casserole is an American dish that is roughly based on Mexican enchiladas; typically, it contains layers of corn tortillas, cheese, meat or beans, and enchilada sauce, which are baked until hot. Unlike traditional enchiladas, which are filled, rolled and cooked in chili sauce individually, the enchilada casserole is design to be cut into slices and served on a plate.
