Ehuru, also called calabash nutmeg or African nutmeg (Monodora myristica), is a tropical tree in the custard apple family, native to West Africa. The seeds of the tree are aromatic and are commonly used in West African cuisine. It is not related to nutmeg. In some American and European markets it is referred to as Jamaica nutmeg due to its introduction to the Caribbean through the slave trade.
