Tom kha is a Thai coconut soup, traditionally seasoned with lemongrass, galangal, makrut lime leaves, and chili. The most common version, tom kha gai, is made with chicken, but non-chicken versions exist. Tom kha goong, which uses shrimp, is common.
Tom kha jay is a vegetarian or vegan version, following dietary rules similar to Buddhist cuisine. Tom kha het contains mushrooms.
