Sugar sculpture, or sugarcraft, is an art form of producing sculpture entirely from sugar and sugar products. In Europe, these sculptures were important signifiers of wealth and status from the Renaissance through to the 1800s, and the art form is still practiced by some artists today. A related artform developed in Asia, giving rise to Japanese Amezaiku sculpture and Chinese 糖人 ("sugar people") sculpture and 糖画 "sugar painting".
