Rowan berry is the fruit of the rowan tree (Sorbus aucuparia). Most species of rowans are grown as ornamentals, but a small number are cultivated in Europe. In Britain, a jam of rowan berries is a traditional accompaniment to game meats, while in central Europe, roawn berries are distilled into schnapps, called Vogelbeerschnaps in Austria and jeřabinka in Czechia.
