Rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum) is a fruit with a leathery red skin covered in bendable soft spines, which contains a translucent white fleshy body that is floral and sweet, with a single seed. The flavor is somewhat similar to grapes.
Rambutan are cultivated in much of Southeast Asia, as well as Africa, southern Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.
