Meggyleves is a Hungarian sour cherry soup, traditionally made when the sour cherry harvest comes in at the beginning of summer.
The recipe is usually quite simple, made with fresh cherries, cream, and perhaps clove or cinnamon. It is conventionally served as an appetizer.
