Macau egg tart is a pastry from the Macau autonomous region in southeastern China, which is very similar to pasteis de nata, or Portuguese egg tarts, due to the long period of Portuguese colonial occupation of the region. Macau egg tarts are reportedly less sweet and more eggy than the variety found in Portugal.
