London Particular is a pea soup from London, UK, named humorously after the thick yellow smog that was ubiquitous in London until the mid-20th century. When the smog was especially thick, it was called "pea soup," which led, predictably enough, for a variety of soup to be named after the technical name of the London fog, "London particular."
