Kourabiedes is a Greek shortbread cookie, often enriched with ground almonds or other nuts and flavored with vanilla or brandy. They are typically dusted generously with powdered sugar after baking, giving them a "snowy" appearance.
They are closely related to the qurabiya Middle Eastern cookie, which have a similar shortbread construction, but may use different nuts, include rosewater or cardamom, and usually lack the powdered sugar coating.
