İmam bayıldı, or imam bayildi eggplant, is an Ottoman dish of whole eggplant stuffed with onion, garlic, and tomatoes, simmered in olive oil. It is now found in a range from Bulgaria and Greece through Israel, Armenia, and the Arab regions. When prepared with meat, the dish becomes karnıyarık.
