Hosomaki is a small sushi roll (maki) made with with only one filling. It is associated with traditional Edomae sushi.
In some cases a specific filling has its own name; see kappamaki, cucumber roll; tekkamakki, tuna roll; and shinkomaki, pickled daikon.
