Gunkanmaki is a Japanese sushi style in which rice is shaped into an oval, wrapped with nori seaweed, and topped with roe, uni, kazunoko, or other toppings.

Name origins

Japanese gunkan "battleship", nori "roll"; so called for the shape like a battleship.
