Gesho kitel (Amharic gešo, "buckthorn", qitel "leaf") is the leaf of the gesho plant (Rhamnus prinoides), used in Ethiopian cuisine to flavor beverages including t'edj and t'alla. It is sometimes marketed as "Ethiopian hops", though the plant is unrelated to modern cultivated hops.
