Deveined shrimp is shrimp that has its digestive track removed. This can be achieved by making a shallow cut along the outer curve of the shrimp's body and using a sharp tool such as a knife, skewer, or deveiner , or, if the shrimp is smaller and the tail has been detached, the vein can be pulled out directly from the tail end with fingers.
