Chipolata is a thin fresh sausage of fine-ground pork meat and spices. They are common in British and Australian cuisine.

Word origin

The French term probably derives from the Italian cipollata, or "made with onions" (see cipolline ), and suggests that a stew of onions with sausages may have been the original source of the term.
