Batons is a culinary term for food cut into regular rectangular pieces, about a quarter inch (5 mm) wide, or for a finished item that has about these proportions. In the United Kingdom, baton is also the name of a short baguette bread loaf. In Russia and Georgia, baton is the name of an enriched sourdough bread.
