Yucca is a group of shrubs and trees (Asparagaceae) native to hot and arid parts of the Americas and the Caribbean. The flower petals are eaten, blanched and seasoned with citrus joice, and the tender stems can be eaten as well.
Note that yucca is not the same plant as cassava, which is also called "yuca" or "manioc".
