Petit Chablis is a French classification for wines from vineyards situated on the outskirts of the Chablis region, often on higher ground with soils that are more Portlandian limestone, which is less complex than the Kimmeridgian soil. Petit Chablis wines are typically lighter, fresher, and more straightforward than Chablis, with more emphasis on crisp acidity and citrus notes, making them more approachable at a younger age.
