Ormer (Haliotis tuberculata, from French "oreille de mer") are a species of abalone native to the British Channel Islands and adjacent areas of France. Their population is sharply depleted and harvesting is strictly controlled.
They are a historical food of the Guernsey and Jersey Islanders, prepared in stews and casseroles.
