Onaga, or long-tail red snapper, is a bottom-dwelling ocean fish native to the Indian and Pacific oceans. It is an important commercial fish in much of its range, and is associated with celebratory events in the Hawaiian islands.
It shares the name of ruby snapper with Etelis carbunculus.
